Afternoon Watercolor Workshops - March Classes (3/8, 3/15, 3/22 all 1-2:30pm)

Ready to learn the wonderful art of watercolor but unsure of where to start or are you looking to advance your skill set? Join Lana Quann, of the Wandering Brush, for workshops geared to take the intimidation out of watercolor and teach the fundamentals to begin your artistic journey. We will build on the previous teachings, but all classes are stand alone workshops that do not require previous lessons. All professional art materials are included with each class.

Controlling Watercolor Paint & Understanding Pigments
In this class we will introduce how to swatch out pigments, create a variety of colors using primaries, and how to select colors that work best for your style/subject matter. While swatching, we will continue to practice the tea, milk, honey consistency and reinforce the water to pigment relationship throughout the class.

Exploring Watercolor Papers - Finding Your Favorite!
Hot press, cold press, cotton or pulp, rough or smooth? With hundreds of watercolor paper to select from, where do you start? In this workshop everyone will go home with a small sampling of watercolor papers and learn how they are best used to fulfill your artistic journey.

Abstract Landscape - Using Textures in Watercolor
This texture class goes a little deeper in our practice, using pigments, a variety of traditional techniques and tools, to create a semi abstract landscape. We will continue to build up washes, learn where to place objects and use color theory with some fun surprises!
