Kids Theater: Fractured Fairy Tales! (Thursdays, 9/24-10/29, 4-5:30pm)
Our amazing theater/improv instructor, Kate Teichman is back with a great new program!
Kids will enjoy acting out theater scripts that put a fun, new twist on classic fairy tale stories! The stories are filled with hilarious moments and characters which the kids will bring to life. Each class will include warm ups, learning to read stories with emotion, and working on character development. On the last day of class, students will perform a staged reading of the plays for their family and friends to watch!
1. Cinderella becomes...CINDER...REALLY?
2. Jack & the Beanstalk becomes...JACK & THE CORNSTALK
3. Little Red Riding Hood becomes...LITTLE RED BOXER SHORTS
4. The Princess & the Pea becomes...THE PRINCESS & THE POTATO
The scripts incorporate sound effects for which students can choose to include audience participation. Cue cards are provided that students can use to cue the audience for a unique, interactive readers' theater performance.

Instructor: Kate Teichman
Kate has her B.F.A. in theater from Ohio University and is an iO! Chicago trained improviser. Kate has worked as a teaching artist, performer, and director for almost 20 years. She has taught both kid and adult classes in schools, theater organizations and hospital settings. She loves helping people tap into their creativity and cannot wait for all the hilarious things you are going to say next!
